Waters 600 Gradient Pump

The Waters 600 fluid delivery system were in production for approximately 30 years but appear to have been recently discontinued in the past year or two. There is however great parts support through 3rd parties. This is debatably the most popular HPLC pump ever built and the used market is full of them. The controller portion of the system has had many revisions and the oldest models are quite different the more current ones. The fluidics portion on the other hand remained almost unchanged during the entire production run.

While the procedure normally requires a service person, the pumps heads can be changed on these units. The standard analytical heads have no marking on them and can be used up to 20ml/min, while those stamped with the number 3 denote semi-prep heads and can achieve 45ml/min. There is even a number 4 head that can give prep flow rates but they are exceedingly rare and we have not found a set after searching for several years.

We can quote 600 systems with either semi-prep heads or analytical heads. Alternatively if you already have a 600 system and can replace the heads yourself, we can supply pump heads separately.

Properly rebuilding a 600 system is very capital and labour intense. We can offer these pumps with just a 90 day warranty and a significantly reduced price but you may want to consider a fully rebuilt system with a 2 year warranty. After competent rebuilding these systems are in fact quite reliable and we have successfully completed all of numerous two year warranties without event.

During the rebuilding process, the following are carried out:

-The Sapphire plungers are replaced
-Plunder seals are replaced
-The check valves are rebuilt
-The reference valve is rebuilt
-The intake valve is rebuilt
-Sparge diffusers are replaced
-Teflon sparge tubing is replaced
-Solvent intake filters are replaced
-Teflon solvent tubing is replaced
-New sparge supply line is installed
-Sparge fitting for gas regulator is supplied to customer
-Pump cable is replaced
-Fan Filter media is replaced
-Rubber feet are replaced

There are several options that can be used with these 600 pumps. If you require a column heater, there is a style that will fit into the "drawer" of the pump. If you require a manual injection one can also be added and an inject start can be wired in so that the run will start on injection.

At one point all of our prices were posted online. Since the subprime fiasco of 2007 we have had an increasingly difficult time keeping our online prices up to date with the number of currencies that we normally quote in. Worse yet (for us) the prices of many instruments are in a state of flux. At this time(June 2010) we are in a buyer's market, this is an excellent time to buy used instrumentation, with prices approximately 10-15% lower then in 2007. Unfortunately we have had to switch from an online pricing setup to a quote-on-request one.

If you would like a quote on one of our HPLC pumps please let us know if you would like our standard two year warranty or our optional 90 day warranty. Please note that only the parts needed to return functionality to the pumps are replaced with the 90 day warranty, while parts are proactively replaced with are standard two year warranty.
